LEXUS LC500 LHD 5.0L V8 Equal-Length Long Tube Headers Development | GWAPOTech JAPAN

We have already developed a performance muffler for the Lexus LC500 5.0L V8 engine (2UR-GSE), which has been very well received for eliminating the low, muddy exhaust tone and instead delivering a high-pitched tone at high RPM.
In response to customers who find a muffler-only upgrade insufficient, this article introduces our F1-sounding equal-length long tube headers, developed over a long period.
Let us start by outlining the key benefits of these headers, compatible with the LC500 using the naturally aspirated 5.0L 2UR-GSE engine.
1. Reduction of Exhaust Pulse Interference
The 5.0L NA V8 (2UR-GSE) in the LC500 is highly responsive to improved exhaust flow. By using equal-length headers, each exhaust pulse reaches the collector at an even interval, reducing interference and pulse collisions. This smooths out exhaust flow and directly improves breathing efficiency.
2. Increased Mid–High RPM Power
With smoother flow, power gains are most noticeable at higher RPM. This is especially effective on high-revving NA engines like the ILC500, which go beyond 7000 rpm.
3. Improved Throttle Response
With optimized exhaust efficiency, the balance between intake and exhaust improves, resulting in sharper throttle response.
4. Crisper, NA-Style Exhaust Note
By minimizing exhaust pulse interference, the sound becomes clearer and more refined. The characteristic "dry, high-pitched tone" of the NA V8 in the LC500 is emphasized, and when paired with our high-pitched muffler, can reproduce a Ferrari-like NA sound.
5. Equalized Exhaust Temperatures
Having equal pipe lengths from each cylinder minimizes temperature variation between them. This reduces thermal stress on the engine and promotes better durability and combustion efficiency.
Important Note on Compatibility:
Due to the difference in steering shaft layout, right-hand-drive (domestic) and left-hand-drive (export) models require different header shapes, and they are not cross-compatible.We have developed headers for both versions and are familiar with the details. If importing aftermarket headers from overseas, please be aware they will not fit Japanese RHD models.
Let's first take a look at the stock headers:

The OEM headers include large catalytic converters to meet emissions regulations, but they severely restrict exhaust flow.Worse yet, the pipe lengths are far from equal—some extremely short, others much longer—resulting in poor sound and reduced performance.
It’s understandable that the factory design had to compromise in such a tight engine bay, but the result is a poorly optimized shape. Now, here are images of our equal-length headers:

For those who seek that “sharp, screaming high-RPM sound” without sacrificing tone, this is a must-have item.
Wholesale sales are available, so if you're considering carrying or installing our products, feel free to contact us!
We are also developing equal-length long tube headers for the ISF, RCF and GSF so if you're interested, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
